We’d like to thank Dennis Gilroy from Quality Tank & Construction Co. for generously donating to support one of the largest shipments of care packages to date!
Care Packages Prepped…
Sample boxes are being made, packing slips are being written, and “Expert Packers” are being trained. Extensive inventory of materials is on hand for the various themes: Men’s Hygiene, Women’s Hygiene, Ethnic Hair Care, Laundry, Food, Golf, Recreation, Stationary, & K9 Love. With our Main Packing Party only weeks away, we are completing the prepping stages: bagging, labeling, sorting, counting… If you are interested in helping out in this stage, or becoming an “Expert Packer” for the event on Friday, September 30th, please contact us.
… and Parties Planned
A wonderful suggestion from a supporter involves groups that will not be able to attend our main event: If you can’t make it to us, we can come to you! (Okay, granted that as much as I’d love a “road trip”, there are reasonable distances that we can travel to for packing parties. Say: “Portland”.)
If you have a group of friends or family that would prefer to host a “Military Care Package Party” (MCPP) at your desired location, we would love to be involved! We can assist in training and assembling of up to 12 care packages within a two-hour time frame, and packages that have the postage sponsored by your group ($12.95/box) can be immediately mailed to the troops of your choice (given that the military men and women are currently deployed and serving overseas.)
The only parameter is that if the care packages are to arrive before Christmas, they need to be ready to go by mid-November at the latest. I am available to come assist with MCPPs between mid-Sept to mid-Nov. If the care packages are assembled during December, they could go out the first of January.
As for materials – I have the hygiene materials (and some food) that the troops request. Listed below are the “themes” of boxes, and if you give me an idea of how many & what theme(s) you’d like to host, then I will bring the appropriate materials. Then your group can bring “morale-booster” items like games, decorations, & treats to add to the boxes.
-Ethnic Hair Care
-Recreation (decor, golf balls, games, etc.)
By the way, those themes are listed according to priority by the troops… Men’s hygiene being the most needed, and recreation being a luxury.
I will supply the boxes, packing tape, customs forms, and packing slips can be created on site. Nothing is needed from your group as far is that is concerned.
So, if you are interested in hosting a Military Care Package Party…
All I need from you is a time-frame of when you’d like to schedule the party, and what theme(s) you like to host, & how many care packages you’d like to create. As a good starting point, the maximum number of care packages to be assembled within a two-hour period is 12 boxes – it can be quite the process!

As we prepare 300 care packages to be shipped out to our Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors during the month of October. Bring a beanie baby, a letter written to a friend (they’ll soon become one!), a picture to share, and most importantly – your encouragement & support! They deserve this, and we are proud to be a part of their lives.
