What an amazing month!
We have met many incredible people in the community who are really stepping up to help our military troops, including Tony and Tina Slyter – owners of our local Grocery Outlet in King City. They sponsored the cost of postage for 12 care packages last week! Also, devoted friends Peter and Diane Smario of Paradise, California helped ship off another 8 packages last month. Lastly, my fellow Lions Club of King City graciously doubled their sponsorship this month so that another 16 troops could be sent the gift of home. And Christmas hasn’t even begun yet!
Thank you so very much! Your generousity is appreciated, and I wanted to share what our troops had to say this last month about the letters and packages they received. (We have regular communication via email/USPS with approximately 25% of our contacts… and do we love it!)
It’s good to hear from you. It is very hot and lots of sand storms here. I really appreciate you helping us and we would love to have all of the above (food, laundry, hygiene). Thank You so much and I will keep in touch.

We got some more packages from your neck of the woods… they made quite the impact…lol….one of our resident artist got the first drawing pad she was really really happy….

Hope you had a great weekend!? …it was 121 degrees here yesterday and 123 degrees today…in the SHADE!!!
Yeah, I like outdoors, walking the dogs, etc. …of course it seems even when I am at homestation I don’t have a lot of free time since I usually work 12 hour shifts every day.
I can’t wait until retirement!

Wow, how did you know we needed some laundry stuff!!! …the store here had been out of laundry detergent for over a week, so people were running out.
