Soldier Asks… Is there anything I can do for you?

A note I received from one of my soldiers asked that very question. My response was as follows…

Michele,

Got your notes the other day, and something you said has stood out to me and I was unable to adequately respond. You asked if there was anything you could do for me… It floored me. Honestly. I can’t imagine asking anything more of you than you are already doing. You have chosen to sacrifice your time and energy for our country in a very heroic way. You are the reason I still have faith in this country. Having taught, I lost a lot of faith in the younger generation. And my being only 31 years old means that largely it is my generation and younger that make me fear what is to come. But, it is in God’s hands. But truly, knowing the age of our “kids” over there that are striving for our freedom, you have to realize that there are people out there worth watching (and supporting).

So, honestly, no. There is nothing you can do for me that you aren’t already doing. Take care of our troops. We love you.

Jenn
