Sending Valentines to Our Soldiers

The past few weeks, my friends and family have been busy creating lovely Valentines to send to our soldiers overseas.  Receiving mail is often the highlight of their day, and what better time to tell them that they are always in our hearts and prayers?

This week we’ll be sending the dozens of Valentines created to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan – and you still have the chance to do the same.  You have no idea how much one letter can improve morale for a soldier!

If you would like to send a Valentine to a soldier, simply follow these steps:

  1. Create your Valentine. It’s amazing what a little paper and stickers can do. We picked up a ton of supplies from Target to create ours for an incredibly cheap price.  If you are in a hurry, stop by a Dollar Tree store to grab a card pre-made.
  2. Go to the AnySoldier.com link and click on the link at the top of the page that says “Where to Send”
  3. Choose a soldier from the table on the left to send the Valentine to…  Click on their name.
  4. On the new page, there is a link that says “Click HERE to request the complete address” under the soldier’s name. After you fill out the form with your information, the address of the soldier will be emailed to you within minutes.
  5. Write a message in the card – express encouagement and thankfulness. Just write like you would to an old friend, and you will find they quickly become one! If you include your address in the card, you may even hear back from them!
  6. Address your Valentine and send it off.  Congratulations!

I hope you take a moment to thank a soldier or a veteran back home. They can use every smile that they can get!

Speaking of smiles, thanks yet again to our dear friends Brian and Reneé, we got off another eight boxes to our soldiers overseas. This batch varied from our soldier-friends in Iraq that like to hit golfballs across the Tigris River, to our MP friend in Afghanistan that serves in a location where she is only one of two females on the base.  I’d also like to thank Stan Torrence, our dear friend who helped sponsor the postage for eight boxes in the past.

When God gives you friends like these, you are blessed!
